Monogamy isn’t about not being tempted, it’s about staying away from opportunities to be tempted. The habits of free love die hard, and there will always be more room for failure. But the only way to not be alone is with another; no multitude of lovers will make up for the lack of that one person. But maybe the excitement of a one night stand is worth the heartache of betrayal, a few lustful moments worth what could have been a life. Or maybe they mean nothing, maybe they do really compare so unworthy as able to be forgotten easily.
